May 3, 2009 – 1:05 am Selling Ads on a Monthly/Weekly Sponsorship BasisIn addition to traditional CPM and CPC ad sales, the sponsorship monetization model is gaining massive popularity. Blogs from Techcrunch to Perez Hilton, to CNN and Youtube sell some of their ads on a sponsorship basis.
The sponsorship model usually has two key attributes -
- a minimum time period and
- an incremental time period.
For example, in selling their ads, the current Techcrunch advertising policy currently requires that advertisers order for at least a two month term, followed by a month-to-month plan.
